Dunes, Coast & Wildlife

The classic circle with room to breathe — the red dunes, a guided 4x4 day into Sandwich Harbour from the coast, two nights under Spitzkoppe's granite peaks, and a third day among Etosha's waterholes.

Dunes, Coast & Wildlife is one of our pre-planned Namibia routes: 10 days and 9 nights, looping out of Windhoek through Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Sandwich Harbour, Spitzkoppe, Etosha and back — roughly 2,210 km of driving in all. Load it into our trip planner as it stands, or use it as a starting point and bend it to your dates, your pace and your budget: every route we publish is a suggestion, not a script.

A note on day one: morning arrivals into Windhoek can start the route the same day, but if you land after midday we recommend a first night in or near the capital — the distances out here are real, and the trip is better begun rested.
